What a fabulous flower! Helichrysums have both the wow factor and the novelty factor. Part of the sunflower family they react to sun and the flowers will enjoy a sunny spot in the garden. The flowers range from white to pink and yellow to orange, bright sunshine colours that glitter. Cut the flowers, hang them upside down to dry and they will last for years, they are luscious in dried flower arrangements. They are loved by bees and other pollinating insects and are, quite simply, a joy. They often go by the name’s everlasting, immortelle, and strawflower. The name is derived from the Greek words (helisso, Sun) and (chrysos, gold). These Straw flowers are much loved by little girls and florists alike!
