Album "6 Cottage Garden Flowers"

Foxglove Flowers, undulating.

Description

A stunning architectural plant, both in the garden and growing wild. Adored by bees and other pollinating insects, and show up in many different types of ecosystems. They self seed prolifically and are a joy to behold, flowering from May onwards, I have even seen some in flower as late as August. They are a joy to photograph as the flower stems often undulate into unexpected curves and swirls. Technically a Bi annual, but I have some original plants that are a few years old. A flamboyant, dramatic and totally impressive plant. It is also known as a poisonous plant, and is used to make many life saving drugs.
