The Golden Cliffs of the Red Sea from the water
Description
Photograph taken from in the water at the drop off, the reef that is visible is the fringing reef, and the water was about two feet over the reef. It is important not to touch the reef, as a mere brush with the hand has the potential to kill delicate coral polyps., Sharm el sheikh, a town on Egypt's Sinai Peninsular is world famous for it's amazing Red Sea Coral Reefs, teaming with the most amazing biodiversity of fish, corals, and anything else that requires a coral reef to thrive. I have been photographing this area of the world for over 20 years and was taking a camera underwater with me before underwater photography became so accessible. I absolutely adore this amazing and diverse part of the world. The reef is healthy, although mass tourism and global warming are starting to leaving their mark.
